As you may know, I am not a fan of pink in the garden, so I have been carefully monitoring the four Peonies the previous owners left in my garden to see how they will turn out.
Last week they were still looking red but as they get closer to blooming they are looking more and more pink. But a deep pink, not a light and frilly pastel pink. The kind of pink I will be able to live with. Considering there are four peonies all the same, that not many other plants that came with these gardens, and how long these plants can live for, it would be a shame to give them 'the old heave ho'.
It's a gorgeous deep pink, I hope you keep them.
ReplyDeleteThey are growing on me. I cannot wait to see them fully open!
DeleteI love peonies! We cannot grow them here in southeast Texas. That's a really lovely one. Does the word "fuchsia" sound better to you than "pink"?
ReplyDeleteFuschia, yes, that sounds much better! Thanks :)
DeletePeonies are my favorite- the smell is so wonderful. Mine were unfortunately destroyed by a violent storm last week! And the pink is great in your photo!!
ReplyDeleteI hope yours come back next year!
DeletePeonies are gorgeous, gorgeous plants. I love the flowers - which actually make quite good cut flowers too, and don't drop for ages, if you cut them as partly open buds.
ReplyDeleteOne thing I like about them is that the colour can change as the open. :)
The colour certainly has been changing, making this first year an exciting roller coaster ride. Thanks for the reminder to cut some and take them indoors.
DeleteI hope you will keep the peonies, they live a very long time in one place. The dark pink is attractive and the macro with the raindrops is lovely.
ReplyDeleteThanks, I am pretty sure that I will keep the peonies, they are just too lovely of a flower.
DeleteThanks very much. I'll be back!
ReplyDeleteMy daughter would love these. What a beautiful pink!
ReplyDeleteI have to admit I they are not just growing, but growing on me. Ha ha.
DeleteLovely bloom and a gorgeous color. Have a happy week!
ReplyDeleteYou to Eileen, thanks for popping in.
DeleteI didn't know they lived a long time as we have one here...a delicate pink, not vibrant like yours.... I love how they smell...... Michelle
ReplyDeleteMichelle, before you mentioned it I did not even know they smelled. Now I have one on my desk at work so I can sniff at will!
DeleteLovely indeed. Seems like the word beautiful isn't enough to describe it.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for the kind words and for stopping by.
DeleteThat's a delicious colour!
ReplyDeleteThanks you. I cannot take credit since it was here before me, but I'll do my best to keep it healthy.
DeleteI think that color is beautiful. Could you try thinking of it as "light red" instead of pink?
ReplyDelete;-)
Light red is not bad, it almost comes across as some variation of purple as well. It is a keeper.
DeleteCheck this out..your photos are up for sale here...is that what you wanted?
