PRETTY VOLUNTEER - Iris

I just love the term "volunteer" to describe plants that have shown up unexpectedly in the garden, it has such a great ring to it.

I took these pics last Spring of a volunteer Iris that appeared in my front garden in Toronto.
One lone Iris.

For all the damage the squirrels there did and all the bulbs they ate, at least they appeared to have left me something in return.

Thanks squirrel, wherever you are.

    1. I won't see Toronto next year since I have moved, but I am going to add some to my new Winnipeg garden :)

    1. Jason I am not sure. I think it is an Iris Reticulata. Does that answer your question?

    1. It was a nice surprise, and next year I am going to plant them on purpose, so that squirrel influenced my garden more than it will ever know.

  4. I can hear the squirrel say: much ado about an iris! ;-)

    Have a nice day!
