Once I had a woman stop and say what I was doing was wrong (I've wondered if perhaps she thought I was collecting them for resale?) but more than once I have had people stop and ask me to follow them into their properties to an even better spot to harvest.

It will be interesting next year to see how well these Asters have taken - I'll write a follow up post for sure.astudentgardenerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17897771369368350331noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5185837729875061195.post-28863747924099341992012-10-06T10:54:13.993-05:002012-10-06T10:54:13.993-05:00Chris, thanks so much for the compliment, it is ve...Chris, thanks so much for the compliment, it is very much appreciated. I will check out your blog as well. I am off to the cottage for Thanksgiving and to work on the "Spruce/Moss" Garden I've started there. I can't wait to share more about it soon.astudentgardenerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17897771369368350331noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5185837729875061195.post-59975171466847991362012-10-06T10:52:37.521-05:002012-10-06T10:52:37.521-05:00Thanks for stopping by again Michelle, always a pl...Thanks for stopping by again Michelle, always a pleasure.astudentgardenerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17897771369368350331noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5185837729875061195.post-87149933865681894602012-10-05T07:53:21.893-05:002012-10-05T07:53:21.893-05:00I've grown to love the native asters--these wi...I've grown to love the native asters--these will be lovely around your birch tree. While you shouldn't dig up plants in nature preserves or public gardens, I agree there's nothing wrong with taking some from roadsides and abandoned fields. I dug up what I thought was prairie phlox a few years ago from the roadside ditch near our house. The neighbors thought I was crazy:)Rosehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01384059342847120951noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5185837729875061195.post-21666904399953063042012-10-02T20:33:16.605-05:002012-10-02T20:33:16.605-05:00Hi Derek, greetings from Northern Ontario.
